Former Manager with more than 5 years of experience in planning, developing and implementing structure, cleanliness and success in the restaurant industry but currently wanting to grow and extend my branches into other lines of work. My first job was with a McDonalds' where I was able to become a General Managers assistant helping to make a place of work feel more like home while trying to increase sales, cleanliness and quality. After my time with McDonalds' I came into employment at a French Cafe known as La Madeleine where I was able to be in a much needed slower environment and learn to actually converse with guests from all ways of life and even from all around the world. With that being said, I have tremendous experience in this line of work but it is now time for me to embrace a challenge and to become the best possible form of myself.
Everyday brings a sunset and from the opposite direction, a new day is waiting to be discovered on the horizon.
I started with the franchise under the ownership of P&M Hoskins Enterprises LLC. when I was a junior in high school in early 2012 working at the 1430 Austin Highway location. By November of the very same year I was the youngest manager in the franchise and I oversaw the top store the franchise had to offer.
When I graduated high school in 2014, I took classes for the company to become a certified manager and shortly afterwards I was transferred to the sister store in Walmart right up the street at 1450 Austin Highway where I would spend a combined 2 years with. In the time I spent in Walmart , I was able to make the store the cleanest in the franchise following in my own footsteps from Austin Highway. Apart from leading in cleanliness, I was privileged enough to land my store and team in the news for outstanding customer service in San Antonio.
Following my time with Walmart I was transferred to my third and final location with the company located on 4720 Broadway St. My time with this store was my most memorable due to the fact that just like my other stores I was able to make my employees love their job and help me once again have the cleanest store in the franchise while helping increase sales. My final two months with the company were the happiest of my whole tenure but things feel through and I realized I was no longer happy chasing after a dream with a broken staircase. I asked for my release from the franchise and put in my two weeks with the store where I ended up staying an extra week to help out until the store could find a new manager to assume my position.
Apart from cleaning and other duties are as followed..
I started with La Madeleine in September of 2017 only working for the company as a part time job just to make ends meat and earn an extra paycheck but but found myself working for the company full-time after my tenure with my former job ended. I worked other positions in the restaurant but worked mostly cashier because in this line of work, it is hard to find an employee that wants to deal with currency much less customers. I at times felt too good for this position because it is cashier is the position in which I excel the most. I love interacting with guests and laughing. I was glad that I was finally out of a fast-paced restaurant and placed into an atmosphere where I could step back and relax. I was able to organize and use my creativity skills to make guests want to buy our product and I ended up loving being a barista and getting to make lattes, cappuccinos and macchiatos while being able to serve mimosas and wine. I've been fortunate in some cases I was able to be apart of the guests experience and I was even offered to take pictures along side their memories because I was such a 'hoot.' I always found myself to be loved by not only the guests but the staff even if our altercations were for months some even hours. As much as I really love working here, there is a much bigger calling in my life that I simply cannot ignore any longer.
I survived 12 years of high school still wanting to accomplish more but unable to follow up on my dream. My senior year I was finally able to take a class that I wanted to take since I was in the eighth grade so I took up accounting and absolutely loved it. I obtained 1 college credit for the course with the one regret that I wasn't able to pursue college and finish what I had started but I know someday soon, I will conquer the beast and accomplish more than just accounting. My aspirations are to be a teacher in accounting, math or history.
