My full name is Angel Alejandro Jimenez. I was born in Venezuela, Caracas and moved to California when I was about 4 years out. Between my age of 4-12 I moved constantly between California and Texas due to new opportunities for the family that seem very beneficial for us to flourish. When we first moved into San Diego, it was a very different environment to what I'm used too, but we quickly adapted and since then we've become very successful as a family here in San Diego. I started wrestling in the beginning of 6th grade and since then I've been wrestling. I've placed in many tournaments in multiple areas and when I came into freshmen year, I was top 10 in state for wrestling as a freshmen. Sophomore year resulted to an injury which unfortunately didn't allow me to wrestle and in this year I moved to New directions(a homeschooling program) so I can benefit more in education. I began coaching when I was a freshmen at Rancho Bernardo high school due to an invitation from my coach and since them I've enjoyed teaching people what my passion is. I've been helping out in and out of different schools for the past 4 years and now I've wanted to expand to helping out with people other than wrestling. I see myself as a great addition to the Boys & Girls Club of San Dieguito since I'm a very active worker that is able to handle most situations when it comes to dealing with kids or teens. I've handle a range of ages in the past from coaching 3-4 year olds to 16-19 years olds. I've learned in the past years of coaching that in order to maintain a fun, respected, and educational environment requires a good influence to the kids and a positive environment for everyone to enjoy in. It is virtually impossible to control everyone if no one respects you as a leader. To become a leader, you have to be self-less and be one with the team for everyone to be successful in any situation, including managing a group of children/teens. If one kid fails to be active and doesn't want to follow instructions, then the team has to help out to become a strong and progressive family. I believe this will be a fun experience for me to be in and I believe I can handle any age group of kids/teens in any environment and keep a well maintained and safe environment for everyone.
