I have done multiple jobs in my short working career. I have umpired 8 year old kids in baseball, worked as a cashier at a grocery store, pulled chains for high school football games, and worked as an Architect Intern and Engineering Intern for Toll Brothers.
Pulled chains on the sidelines for high school football games.
Baseball: I have been playing baseball for most of my life. It's a spring sport for high school and a summer sport for Select ball. Both teams usually take up all of my free time. I am on the Marcus Varsity baseball team and we have practice everyday after school. My day usually consists of school, baseball, and homework. Over the summer, we have practice on Monday and Wednesday and play baseball games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am a leader on both of my teams by pitching, hitting, playing first base to the best of my abilities and always cheering on my fellow teammates.
Internship: Over the summer of 2017, I was an Architectural Intern for Toll Brothers. Over the summer of 2018, I was an Engineer/ Architecture intern for Toll Brothers again. It was a full time job.
FCA: Fellowship of Christian Athletes has made a huge impact on my life. It has showed me how to be better at maintaining my everyday life, be a better friend, and how to lead others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. I have been an FCA leader for two years now, through my junior and senior years of high school. We meet once a week, every Monday, at the local church. FCA is a program based out of my school and I see people everyday in the halls that I've met at FCA. I'm glad that I'm able to spread God's word in my school and by being a leader at FCA.
Football: In football, I am a Right Tackle on the Varsity team. This position is on the far right side of the offensive line. My job is to protect the quarterback from the defense. I would consider myself a leader because I am a senior and I help a lot of the underclassmen. During football season I get up, go to practice in the morning, go to school, go to after school practice and go home. In the fall, I have very little free time because of football.
Younglife: Younglife is a program based out of my church. It is a Bible Study Group that meets once a week on Wednesday's. A lot of my friends at my church attend with me and we have a great time talking about different stories in the Bible and how we can apply them to our daily lives. I also participate in the meetings by contributing ideas about how we can apply what we have learned into our everyday lives.
A.A.A.: Adopt An Athlete is one of the highlights of my week. This is because all of us football players go to the local elementary schools every Thursday morning to mentor the kids and help the teachers. We teach the kids, play outside, and help them with anything they may need. We try to be role models to the kids and teach them lessons about life. I love my kids so much and this experience has helped me see life through a child's perspective.
Volunteering: Over my high school years, the baseball team participates in a community volunteering project every month. For example, in October, we help set up the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch so the owner doesn't have to hire and pay people to do it. We also participate in a buddy walk to support kids with Down Syndrome. In August, we help with a local charity golf tournament by helping the golfers with their bags, clean the golf carts and add stock the food pantry. Each project takes up the weekend to do, but it is so much fun and a great way to bond.
