Title: Peculiarities of Puberty and Condition of Reproductive System in Teen Girls with Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract: Sixty female patients (ages 11 y.o. to 16 y.o.) were examined, monitored, and received treatment at the Department of Clinical Endocrinology of Russian Center of Endocrinology and Chemistry of Hormones from 1987 to 1991. Findings showed strong positive correlation between compensation of diabetes and condition of reproductive system in the patients, and possible dysfunctions in the higher regulatory control centers of reproductive system that led to delayed puberty. New approach in treatment, specifically designed to treat delayed puberty in children with diabetes, showed positive results in 3 - 6 months.
