Currently,I am working as an Admissions Specialist in the Office of Continuing Professional Studies. Specifically, I am working with the Veteran Coordinator in effort to assist military students who are either Veterans, Active Duty members or dependents of a military parent or spouse, who are applying to the College for admission.
I resumed responsibility for the transfer student population in the Admissions Office.
I worked in the SABRE Project which was responsible for developing a student information system for the College campus.
This work involved working within a team of eight professionals and one faculty member, who was the project director, over a six year period. Consultants from Oracle worked with us both in person and by phone to develop the technology that would bring the campus into the 21st century.
At the conclusion of the successful extension of this project, I
returned to the Admissions Office and resumed my duties as an Admissions Counselor.
The manual entry of transfer credits was in place when I arrived. The push to have this more "automated" was reviewed and later developed by a Computer Information Systems faculty member for the entire College.
I provided the input as to what was needed in the Admissions Office to begin this process
tested the initial system and made suggested changes. Provided training
upon system launch to those I supervised in the office, one program
aide and later another professional.
In 2000, the Director of Admissions at that time, appointed me and
another staff member to work in the SABRE project slated to be in existence for two years charged with developing a student information system for the entire College campus. The SABRE Team, as we became known as, was made up of two
people from the Undergrad Admissions Office, one from the Graduate Office, two from Student Accounts, two from the Registrar's Office and two from the Financial Aid Office. Please see next position.
