I am an equity-driven and compassionate educational leader who forges meaningful partnerships with students, families, and staff, through a focus on relationships and strong instructional practices. With over a decade of experience in a diverse multi-cultural setting, I thrive in a lively and joyful learning environment. I have earned the trust and respect of my colleagues through my focus on equity, powerful, standards-based instruction, and unwavering belief that the needs of students come first. I am committed to nurturing a learning environment where all students and staff learn and grow together.
As an Administrative Intern and Building Literacy Specialist, I led whole staff professional development, partnered with organizations to increase student equity, collaborated with teachers to provide coaching and support in service of their students' learning and growth, and worked with building and district leaders in service of our shared vision and mission: to know each student by name, strength, and need.
Serving as Language Arts Department Chair and Subject Specialist, I have collaborated with building leadership to increase student achievement building-wide, facilitated PLC groups, and facilitated grade-level alignment.
As a 9th Grade Academy Head of House and Content Lead, I was afforded the opportunity to expand my leadership role, participating in the design and implementation of the academy itself. Working with a team of sixteen teachers, we created a model program that provided successful academic interventions for struggling students, improved outcomes for students learning English, and strengthened family and community connections.
As a Subject Specialist in an option school, I had the opportunity to work in a 21st Century educational setting. With 1:1 technology and a project-based learning framework, I was able to expand my scope of teaching and learning utilizing technology tools and collaborative learning models.
As a subject specialist, I worked with the district to create curriculum frameworks aligned to the Common Core Standards which are used by language arts teachers in grades nine and ten, and partnered with other programs to increase enrollment in advanced courses.
