Statement of Teaching Philosophy
I chose my vocation for reasons of my heart and because I care deeply about my students. Teaching is a privileged position that demands meekness as much as respect. It is imperative that teachers recognize the power inherent in their role and are self-reflective about their actions. As an educator, it's critical that I'm mindful of my position as a role model and the impact I have on student's success. Transformative learning is a reciprocally educative endeavor-informative and uplifting for teachers and students alike. It is about open hearts and minds and changing lives for all those involved in the process. Educators everywhere must understand that the most profound learning exchanges take place when the process of education is linked to the experiences, interest, and capacities of the individual student. Online education brings opportunities to individuals that have never had them before. I am honored to be a part of that.
