Leadership Academy for Lexington. Richland School District 5 is a program for teachers who were nominated by their principals who are pursuing an administrative degree and would like to step out of the into the administrative role. Participates must have a good track record in regards to attendance during the 190 days of their contract and must have taught for 3 years. Each meeting has a different topic : Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, Personnel/Human Resources, Administrative Functions, Finance and Operation, Student Service and School -Community Relations.
Prior to each meeting a task list must be completed by each participate at their school. Task are hands on experience of administrative duties. We have real scenarios that can happen at the school that we also discuss in breakout rooms. Each participant has to lead a committee at their school or organize a school evert with support.
I am actually the Team Lead Facilitator of our 5th grade Data Team , a member of our technology team and a member of Diversity committee.
