A summary section should be 4-6 lines and should address an overview of your experience, two or three major skill sets, and some valuable personality traits/soft skills
Starting your resume off with a Summary section is a great way to highlight some of your most outstanding traits right from the get-go. Dont cut yourself off here, but rather try to fill your 4-6 lines with some of your best qualifications. These can be repeated later in your resume. The sample can be expanded to include an overview of experience and some specific skills. WRONG: Summary Hard working, dedicated United States Navy Yeoman specializing in administrative duties. All lists should be in bullet point format
Using bullets to start off items on a list will help to make each specific item stand out. This is also better organization and will make it easier for a potential employer to refer to points throughout the resume. Bullets can for the most part be short phrases with no periods, but in the experience section they should start with a strong action verb and end with a period.
Each job listed in your Experience section should have five to eight bullet points
Try to be creative in describing you performance, so you sound even more qualified. Five to eight points per section is a good rule of thumb to fill your resume with information without overstuffing it. In the Experience section, your sentences should be coming from a first-person perspective, excluding the personal pronoun. So make sure your verb tenses match that format.
