Make Sure the Skills Section Focuses on Key words or Phrases
The skills section of a resume is where you use key terms and phrases to highlight your skills. In the sample resume, the core qualifications section is comparable to a skills section. However, the way things are worded in the sample resume doesn’t really highlight skills. Points like statistical training or computer skills are very vague and don’t give a good idea of the exact skills the applicant has in these areas. Make sure when creating your skills section that you are concise and descriptive. These are important because they give a good overview at the many talents you have and the skills you possess.
Watch Verb Tenses in the Experience Section
When writing your experience section, you will use present tense verbs only for a job where you are currently still employed. All past jobs should use past tense.
