This sample resume has some issues with its summary statement: My name is Shelby Auldridge, I just finished with my Associates Degree in fashion merchandising at Sierra College. I’m great with customers, and I have been in the customer service/retail sales industry for five years now. I pride myself in having a strong work ethic and being a dependable employee by always showing up on time and finishing all the tasks that are assigned to me. First, there is no reason to say what your name is and that you received a degree. A prospective employer will know what your name is because it will be at the very top of the resume, and any degrees you have earned will be listed in the education section. Instead, you want to focus on soft skills and personality traits in the summary, so the reader will know what you bring to the table. Another tip for your resumes summary is that first person nouns should not be used, and it is perfectly acceptable to use sentence fragments.
Experiences section should be broken up with bullet points
There is a lot of great work experience in this section, but it needs to be formatted slightly differently in order to please an employer.
