Only put 8 entries per column in the Highlights section
When making a list in a Highlights or Skills section, make sure to only use 8 points per column. This applicant includes too many points in the first list. He would need to delete some points to make the 2 columns fit 8 entries each.
Only include 5-8 points in the Experience section
Each job you’ve held that makes it onto the resume needs plenty of details. This resume, however, includes entirely too many points. He would need to combine details or delete some to keep the number of entries between 5 and 8.
Use bullets to organize information
Bullet points are a great way to organize information placed in list form. This applicant doesn’t use bullets in the first job entry, and he uses dashes in the second entry. If you have and mention certifications elsewhere on your resume, you need to list them in a Certifications section or, if you only have one, in the Education section. This applicant mentions certifications in the Affiliations section, but doesn’t detail what they are. He would need to write out what each certification was for and place them in the correct area.
Increase the size of font
You want to make sure that your resume won’t be passed up because of a little error involving font size. Small font is hard to read, so never use font less that 10-pt.
