An important tool you are going to need to have when you go on a job hunt is a well-written, informative resume. Without this, it is going to be an uphill battle in landing that dream job, which is why we have consulted with our experts to give you first-class advice. Our experts have gone through a senior clinical pharmacist resume sample and have found everything wrong with it, so take the following advice to heart the next time you get to work on writing your resume.
Summary portion should be around five sentences long
Many job applicants do not put as much effort into the summary section as they need to in order to really impress a potential employer. This sample resume is one such example because it only has one sentence. The summary should include a combination of your personality traits, soft skills and real world work experience. The writer of this resume would simply need to expand upon her traits so that the reader gets a better sense of who she is immediately up top.
Licenses should be at the bottom of the resume
Directly underneath the summary section is the applicants licenses, but these should really be placed more towards the bottom with education. In some instances, it can even be better to simply group education and licenses together, but due to the fact that this candidate has two licenses, that is enough for it to warrant its own separate section. You want to present information regarding the skills and experiences you have at the beginning of your resume, and then towards the bottom is when you can get into specific degrees.
Skills should be simplified and contain maximum of eight points per column
There is a lot of good stuff in this skills section, but in actuality, it is simply too much. You generally want to have anywhere between three to eight bullet points in each column, and this resume has more than eight in both. If there is valuable information in this section that you do not want to get rid of, you should transfer some of the points into the experience section so that none of the material is lost completely.
Experience section should not have paragraph, it should use bullet points
The job descriptions within this sample resume are presented in paragraph form, so there is a lot of information bunched together. This is a lot for a prospective employer to take in, so in order to break up all this material and make it easier to read, you would want to use bullet points for each individual statement. Therefore, the section for Express Scripts/Medco should look like this:
Formatting the information like this is so much more attractive, and the reader will be able to get through it much more quickly. Whether or not you use QuintCareer’s Resume Builder, you should still put plenty of time into crafting your resume, so it is absolutely perfect. You will be in a much better position to get a new job if you show that you care about making a top-of-the-line resume.
