Don’t use bullet points in the executive profile section
The executive profile section is one of the only places that bullet points should never be used. This section should be looked at as a sales pitch, so it should be written in paragraph form. Carmen uses bullets to separate her statements. She needs to remove these, place all of the statements together in one paragraph, making sure not to exceed six lines of text.
Use bullet points for individual details in employment section
The employment section on this resume is full of some great details, but they aren’t formatted correctly. Each individual point should be given a bullet point to create an organized look throughout this area. Carmen uses spaces to separate some of them, but this isn’t professional and wastes valuable space. Avoid going over eight points per job
Even though Carmen gives some great details in her experience section, there are too many points. Every applicant should strive to stay between five and eight points per job listed on a resume. Carmen needs to decide which points are less valuable or relevant to her desired job and remove them, or she needs to remove anything already stated in the accomplishments section.
