It starts off by unintentionally telling employers that the candidate worked at many positions while having no idea what she was doing. RIGHT: Highly motivated self-starter with extensive experience in medical billing and bookkeeping. Adaptable to changing job conditions and committed to on-the-job learning. It is worth noting that, while this candidate is justifiably proud of having worked her way up, her long tenure in her last position as medical bookkeeper makes the continued emphasis unnecessary. If you are applying for a position with little or no relevant experience, you may wish to highlight your ability to learn quickly and adapt. On the other hand, if you are already experienced, as this candidate clearly is, a brief mention is enough. The achievement that you take the most pride in is not necessarily the achievement that is most relevant to the job you want.
Do not mention your reasons for leaving a position
Your resume is not an appropriate venue for listing the reasons why you changed jobs or why you are now looking for a new position. These are issues you should be prepared to discuss at the interview, but they should not appear on your resume.
