Work history listings should avoid being too short or too long
This is a tough assignment. If there is too much information, readers will feel burdened or bored and skim or skip important points. If it’s too , then your experience is not deep enough and will be undervalued. You can find a happy medium by aiming for five to eight points per job. If you find a job had items that are worth mentioning but the list is getting long, you can move them to another section. You should list your general responsibilities, but this is not the extent of what can be in your resume. Unique or detailed examples of how you have found success are welcome points. An accomplishment section can improve presentation
You were just introduced to this concept, but now you can see it in greater detail. Descriptive points are valuable entries in the work experience, but if the lists run too long or you need to consolidate points, then the most specific examples will fit nicely into an accomplishments region. Usually you will want to locate this above the work history as it will have the most impressive content. This is also a good place to consolidate educational points or other noteworthy items that do not fit comfortably anywhere else. This example is a small representation, but it highlights the kinds of points that could fit in this section. Even more specific examples would also be fine. Additionally, take note of the acronyms. The person in charge of hiring may not be familiar with them, so be sure to list out their full names the first time they appear in the document.
Avoid fonts that are difficult to read
This comes up very frequently. It is very tempting to use a small font to enable you to squeeze more information into a two page limit. This is one of the most detrimental mistakes you can read. Not all hiring managers have equivalent vision. If your resume is at all difficult to read, you can count on it being skipped. Such a mistake is easy to avoid. In this case, a proper font size (10 pt or larger) would also help fill white space, as this example is a little shorter than it should be. The concept also applies to obscure fonts or non-black colors. While specific jobs may merit the use of color, black is the most professional choice, and it is the most universally easy to read.
