You also generally want to aim to have at least four sentences for a resume summary, so you could rework this section to go like this: Extensive knowledge of materials department. Experience in material handling and adaptability. Knowledge and skillsets are ideal for any duties expected of a Material Analyst. Able to manage the flow of materials and exceed customers’ expectations. This reads so much better and will make the hiring manager excited to read the rest of your resume.
Use consistent tenses, whether they are present or past
Look at the list of responsibilities this person had while working as a student assistant at Jacksonville State University:
A combination of tenses is used even though he no longer works at this job. Therefore, you would want every verb to be written in the past tense, making the list go like this:
Make sure every job has more than one point
This person goes into a good amount of detail for every place of employment he has had; however, only one point is given for his time at Kenmar Upholstery:
You want to aim for a minimum of five bullet points, or it may just be best to eliminate a workplace entirely. Unless the position he is applying for will require him to have experience with upholstery, he has plenty of other workplaces to make himself stand out. Leaving out certain jobs may also help you get your resume down to just one page, so when you are writing your own resume, really consider all of the jobs you have had and decide for yourself how many you should list for the job you want to obtain.
