Improper Summary Length and Format
This is a very poorly written summary. The writer does not use any punctuation, and many of the words are unnecessarily capitalized. The writer needs to expound upon his or her professional qualifications and add more soft skills. This section should consist of at least 4-6 lines, and grab the readers’ attention. The writer should also remember that it is acceptable to used sentence fragments here.
Add Licenses to Education
Since this applicant possesses only two professional certifications, this section is not needed. The two lines can simply be added to the education part the resume. This section simply looks barren and boring.
Add More Skills
This section does a subpar job at highlighting the applicant’s skills and abilities. There should be more professional skills listed, so that the reader will have a greater understanding of the applicant’s acquired knowledge. It is also too short. At least 3-4 skills should be listed in each column and the writer should use a table format.
In terms of work experience, this section does provide an adequate amount of information. The information however, should be written using bullets instead of long-winded paragraphs. The applicant also forgot to add the dates of employment for each job. Using bullets helps to better organize job duties and underscore the most important functions. Right: Portsmouth Regional Hospital ? Portsmouth, NH LNA (Oncology) Date Needed
The right way also adds periods at the end of each statement and includes only the most important tasks. Each job should have no more that 5-8 bullets, and additional information can be included in a separate accomplishments section.
This resume also fails to give any educational information regarding the applicant. This is a career that requires a postsecondary education, yet it does not list any colleges, universities, or vocational schools. The graduation date is also missing from this section. Without any educational information, the reader has no way of knowing whether or not the applicant is qualified. Are you in the market for a new or different job?
