Put the most important information at the top of each section

Include a description for each position you have held

By just listing a position and not expanding on what it entailed, you are selling yourself short and not showcasing what you are capable of. Additionally, not being forthcoming with your job experience may lead employers to think that you have something to hide.
List your experience in bullet points
Presenting your prior job experience in paragraph form may seem like an elegant way to go. However, paragraphs can get too wordy and the power of your message, as well as important information, may get lost. Bullet points are a great way to effectively communicate your information. The human eye is naturally drawn to bullet points and they lend themselves well to scanning. Remember, the employer may only be glancing at your resume for a few seconds so you want them to be able to glean any pertinent information quickly. Be sure to always put the most important bullet points at the top of the list. Dont use abbreviations
Abbreviations should only be used if they are commonly known, such as abbreviating the name of a state. If you want to be seen as a professional and taken seriously, it is best to write things out. If you do decide that you want to use an abbreviation, the name should be written out the first time you use it followed by the abbreviation, and then referred to by the abbreviation only for the rest of the document. If you are not sure whether it will be immediately recognized by an employer it is always best to write it out. For example, if you are applying to be a kindergarten teacher in another state, tests there may be referred to by different names. Most importantly, always be consistent. If you treat an abbreviation one way on your resume, be sure to treat all other abbreviations in the exact same manner.
