Make sure to start each bullet point in the Experience section with a strong action verb
If you simply list the duties performed in a job, you really arent providing any more information than a job description. Find ways to creatively describe the way you attended to your duties, and highlight any accomplishments or excellence. Make sure to use present tense for a current job and past tense for previous employment. Make sure to spell out any abbreviations
You want whoever is reading your resume to know what you are talking about, so make sure that any abbreviations used are spelled out. In the sample resume, ICD-9, CPT, and HEDIS are some abbreviations that can be spelled out on their first occurrence in the document.
Separate you information into appropriate categories
Certifications can be placed in the Education section. There is no need to include an Additional Information section to describe a certification or licensure. This section can be deleted from the sample resume, and the item moved into Education. There are also some scholarships listed in the Education category. These can be highlighted in a separate Accomplishments section before the Experience section, and will not have to be repeated in Education. The Education section should include graduation information. An Accomplishments section placed above the Experience section would be a perfect place to move the scholarships and Deans recognition. Typically, you will not list employment more than 15-20 years ago
You want your resume to be a maximum of two pages. To keep things relevant, as a rule dont share job experience form more than 15 years ago, unless there is something really important and relevant from that experience that you want to highlight in your resume.
