Include Most Recent Education in Chronological Order
Like the experience section, the education portion should contain your most recent and most important achievements. This sample lists the education in a chronological order as is standard. The only issue is including the high school diploma. If youve graduated from or attended college, the hiring manager will assume youve completed high school. Thus, it isnt necessary to list this information. Conversely, if you do not have any higher education to list, go ahead and list your G.E.D. or high school diploma credentials.
Write a Full Summary
Although your resume as a whole is a first impression, your summary is your first chance to introduce yourself. You should view it as an opportunity to showcase your professional abilities and summarize your most important work experience. The samples summary contains excellent information, but it should be about 4-6 lines instead of one and a half. Committed and motivated Administrative Assistant with exceptional customer service and decision making skills. Possesses strong work ethic and professional attitude combined with great initiative. Experienced with the demands of high-level support roles and skilled with office management and organization. Seeking the opportunity to use skill set and past experience to benefit the company and further professional development. You dont have to use full sentences, but your phrases should read like a first-person statement without the pronoun. You also dont have to use a list here, but do start your sentences with strong verbs and adjectives. Separate the phrases with a period followed with a one or two spaces. Focus on what you can bring to the table and what will make you stand out as a candidate.
