Do not include references
Many years ago, references were commonly found on resumes, but that is no longer the case. Resumes should never be included because an employer will request them if he or she wants them. Stefanie includes her references in the summary section, and these need to be removed for the most professional look.
Formatting the accomplishments section
An accomplishments section is a great place to showcase the best skills over a career, but it should only contain notable or measurable achievements, and it can only exist if there are at least three of them to include. Stefanie doesnt include the right kind of information here, and she doesnt have enough to justify having this section. Because of this, she needs to remove the accomplishments section.
Give five to eight details per job listed
The experience section does more than give general job information to prove to employers that an applicant has some experience. It presents a clearer picture of skills learned and training obtained during the years. Stefanie doesnt include very much information, which would make any employer have to guess. Instead, she needs to come up with at least five points for each employment history entry, each beginning with an active verb.
Bullet points are necessary to create clarity in the experience section
This resume doesnt suffer very much from poor organization, but Stefanie is missing a key element: bullet points. These help create clarity in the experience section, which has a tendency to carry a lot of different information. Each details or duty needs to be in list form and given its own bullet point. Increase font size for readability
Font size is important because it can mean the difference between an employer taking the time to read and shoving the resume to the bottom of the stack. Stefanie uses a 7.5-pt font. Instead, she needs to increase her minimum font to at least 10-pt for easy reading. Dont let your resume stand in the way of landing the next step in your career path.
