Merge smaller sections
Listing technical skills and accomplishments in separate sections can be a useful tactic on your resume, calling attention to the most important aspects of your professional career. However, very short sections can sometimes look more meager than intended. This sample resume lists one item under its Accomplishments header, making it appear as if the candidate has only a single accomplishment, not the impression anyone wants to make. In general, most sections on a resume should have at least three or four items, with the exception of the education section. If you only have one significant accomplishment to note, include it under the experience section instead. Likewise, the qualifications and skills can be combined if they’re sparse on their own.
Write out work experience in a list
The work experience section is the backbone of a resume, showing potential employers what you can do and have accomplished. The duties and achievements for each job you’ve held should be listed in distinct, easily ready bullet points, never paragraph format, to emphasize the number of different responsibilities you’ve carried out. Each item should start with a powerful action verb, highlighting the action taken, and should be in past tense unless it’s a position you are still presently holding. End every line with a period, never a comma or a semicolon.
