The summary section does a fairly decent job of highlighting the applicants personal strengths and talents. Unfortunately, it does begin several of the sentences with I. This makes the section seem boring and repetitive. The applicant should remember that it is not necessary to use complete sentences in a summary. I am a motivated food serving professional with 3+ years food and beverage experience in casual and fine dining. I am a dedicated individual who prides myself on results oriented work. I would love to become the newest member of your team. Thank you. Motivated food service professional, with 3+ years food and beverage experience in casual and fine dining. Add More Professional Skills to Core Strengths
The core strengths section is of appropriate length, but it should include more job-related skills. The applicant should use this section to distinguish himself from other applicants, but so far he has listed only one professional strength (opening/closing procedures). Employers are interested in personal characteristics, but their primary goal is to decide whether or not you possess the knowledge and expertise to perform the job well.
Revise Work Experience
This applicant does provide the reader with a comprehensive view of his work experience, but many of the job descriptions are simply too long. Each position should only use 5-8 bullets, and periods should be placed at the end of each sentence or statement. He should also remember to put each sentence in present-tense since he is still employed at this particular job. Wrong: Cook January 2013 to Current Buffalo Wild Wings ?
