Include a section of accomplishments and skills before diving into work experience
Rather than trying to list all of your areas of expertise in your summary statement, its a much better idea to incorporate a section listing your various talents and achievements. This makes it easier for the hiring manager to see exactly why youre the right candidate for the job. Skills

Only include pertinent information
If you can look at your resume and see things that dont necessarily apply to your chosen career path, leave them out. For example, when applying for any job outside of high school, including your high school education and graduation date is not necessary. While this may seem to leave a hole without an education section, its better to fill it with relevant skills and experience than incorporating something that happened 20 years ago.
Keep your experience section organized and list by importance

Watch for typos
No matter how big or how small, any form of typographical error on a resume is a huge red flag. Even something as simple as using the wrong form of punctuation in a company name (i.e. Brinks) shows the hiring manager that your attention to detail might not be as accurate as youre claiming it to be.
