Hiring managers use a resume to get a broad overview of a potential job candidate. Crafting a resume that accurately reflects the experience, professionalism and skill that you bring to the table can be difficult. List out the dates of employment in each section, but use a consistent format when doing so either always month/year, or always month/day/year. If you currently hold a position, its acceptable to state date to present for the time frame. Be sure to use proper tenses as well present tense for a current job, past tense for a previous position. It is a good idea to break out different positions within the same company, but try to do so in such a way that its immediately obvious that you worked for that company for an extended period, and that you attained increasing responsibility throughout your employment there. Six to eight points under each position, giving the highlights of the work you did, will give the hiring manager a good idea of your capabilities.
