Returning to the Job Market
Stay connected with people
Whether we do so on purpose — our badge of dishonor from being laid off — or whether it is unintentional, we often isolate ourselves while we rebound from a layoff. Don’t do it!
Make a goal of having at least one lunch and one coffee meeting with friends, associates, etc. Perhaps use these as rewards for achieving some of your weekly job-search goals — but whatever your reasons, just do it.
While you are out of work, you need to make the effort to stay connected to the outside world, to have a little fun, and perhaps find a job lead or two in the process.
