Paul Thiboutot is the Dean of Admissions at Carleton College in Northfield, MN.
He has held this position since 1987. A frequent presenter at college planning nights, he has also been quoted in national publications like The New York Times, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal and had articles published in the Chronicle of Higher Education and the College Board Newsletter.
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Common Application, including as President, helping oversee its transition to the online application process. He is also active in the National Association for College Admission Counseling as a presenter on panels and as faculty for workshops/seminars.
Perhaps his greatest asset is having two daughters who navigated the college selection/admission process successfully, despite his sometime wrong notion of what to expect in terms of thin or fat envelopes from colleges.
