You can use Google to do your search, using a search term like "best productivity software" or "productivity increase software" to find results. Or, you can consult such popular software-geared magazines as PC World, Macworld, and Linux Magazine (to name a few) to find information about best software for increasing business productivity.
Before beginning your research, speak to your manager about the price range they're looking to stay in with the purchase of a piece of productivity software. Also, speak to them about any specific features they're looking for the productivity software to have.
When you find productivity software that looks like it might work for your manager's needs, forward the URLs to your manager for review. Consider briefly explaining why you think the software could work for his/her needs.
