But you’re probably not getting this feedback after interviews — this is likely something a (third party) recruiter would bring up in an initial phone screen. Do an audit of your resume. Do you have the most relevant keywords worked into it? How far back into your career history does your resume go? Are you up-to-date on the latest, most critical technology in your field?
If your resume is optimized with keywords, has a Work History section that goes back more than 20 years, and you’re technologically competent but still not getting interviews, then it's probably the length of your experience — i.e., your age — that’s the impediment. Also, if the job description (or anyone you speak with during the recruiting process) makes mention of preferring a "digital native," that is thinly veiled code for "person under age 35."
