Only you can decide if it is worth sacrificing your 20s for your career. What is meant by "sacrificing" anyway? Lots of people spend their twenties in uninspiring, poorly paid roles as they figure out which direction they want to take. That is actually not a sacrifice. That is a learning experience.
If you want to be a specialized physician, you’re going to spend most of your twenties working harder than many of us could ever imagine (because that's what needs to be done in order to become a physician). Again, this is not a sacrifice. It's an investment of time.
Maybe you work 80 hours per week through your twenties and thirties while investing and saving so you can retire at 45. That is not a sacrifice — those are the steps you have laid out to achieve a targeted goal. If you are being productive and moving closer to your desired outcome, that is not a sacrifice — that is having a clear vision about the direction you want to take. I have yet to work with anyone who has felt that they "sacrificed" or "wasted" their twenties by focusing on their careers.
