Another category of glamorized career paths that can become nightmares involve a combination of high stress and occupational hazards. Some of the most visible include first responders, protective services, and military. But it also includes many roles in law, health care, agriculture, construction, energy, and transportation. And for some, the nightmares continue well outside of work, where struggles with burnout, divorce, and even suicide are grievously commonplace.
