In a mock interview, you can enlist the help of a friend or visit a career center and pretend to go through a real interview. Your mock interviewer can use a mixture of common interview questions, ones that are specific to the job you want, and perhaps a few surprise questions. Practicing your responses can help you feel confident and feedback can let you know if there's a better way to say something.
Looking at the recording after a mock interview lets you look at your posture, what you're doing with your hands and other important physical tells that can harm your chances during an interview. LiveCareer goes into more detail here about ways to practice for an interview.
Another way to prepare is with informational interviews. This practice includes your potential employer but is not an actual interview. It gives you a chance to find out if there are any red flags about your appearance and demeanor.
