The experts recommend> beginning your application preparation at least six months in advance. Start by registering for the GMAT and then studying diligently. Most students need three to six months of study to perform their best on the exam. This is also the time to explore MBA programs and select the schools to which you wish to apply.
Go over your resume with a fine-tooth comb. Compare it to other business resumes and notice if you have gaps in community service, hobbies, or leadership experience. Use this time to develop areas in which you fall short.
As you can see, if you have planned enough time, you can continue to work while preparing for an MBA. However, if you have less than six months before the application is due and you have not begun studying or have significant resume issues, you may need to quit your job to get ready in time.
