Since requesting a job transfer is similar to requesting a new job, you should start off the process by writing a formal job transfer letter. In this letter, you should state a few reasons why you are a valuable asset to the company. You should then go into why you want the transfer and why the company should continue to employ you in your part-time role.
After submitting the letter to your employer, don't be afraid to ask them about what your transfer opportunities are in a casual manner. Encourage them to read your letter and then ask them to get back with you in a designated timeframe.
If your employer denies your request for transfer, this is the same process you should follow in the future if you decide to pursue a transfer opportunity again. If your employer does accept your transfer request, send a quick note to them by email or a traditional letter thanking them for the opportunity.
