Of course if the job description specifically asks for your GPA then you should list it. As previously stated, once you have about five years of experience, you don’t need to include your GPA as your experience and achievements in your field should speak for themselves. At that point your resume will focus on the work you have done in your field and the things that make you a qualified and desirable candidate. Early on in your career you don’t have as much experience (obviously), so your GPA demonstrates that you have the potential to be excellent. This is not to say that someone with a stellar GPA will definitely turn out to be an amazing worker or employee.
Without a lot of experience, the GPA—provided it is exceptional—serves as a stand-in until you have the achievements that demonstrate your excellence.

• Do you have higher grades within your major? If so, include that GPA on your resume, rather than your overall score. This is particularly helpful if you are applying for a job directly associated with your major.
• Is your GPA higher than 3.0? Even though hiring managers understand you are more than just a figure on a piece of paper, showcasing your academic achievements gives you a competitive edge.

If your GPA is lower than 3.0, leave it off your resume. Instead, focus on other relevant accomplishments. Do you have work experience? Have you completed an internship?
