The answer to this question is a resounding "yes!" In fact, the primary purpose of an internship is to help jobseekers who have no experience. This means it is actually more common for those who get accepted for an internship to have no working experience at all. Of course, employers are more eager to grant an internship to a jobseeker who has some other kind of relevant experience, even if it is not professional.
