While you probably know you shouldn't use a novelty font like Papyrus on your resume, you may be wondering if Arial is a good choice. It is. Arial has all the characteristics of an excellent professional font: clean lines, easy readability, and compatibility with standard word-processing programs. It's also a printer-friendly style. If you don't want to spend extra time looking through possible fonts, sticking with Arial is smart.
If you do want some additional font options besides Arial, you can go with another standard choice. As you can see by studying professional resume samples, good font choices are simple and easy-to-read. You should use a point size somewhere between 10 and 12, but you can make your name in the header slightly larger.
