The answer is, it depends. Most of the time, this information does not belong on your resume. There are a few exceptions to this, however. First of all, understand that church or religious activities follow the same rules as any other hobby when it comes to resume writing. Nearly all the time, this information is simply irrelevant and unnecessary.
Occasionally, however, a hobby is relevant and you can include it. This also applies to church activities. For instance, if you apply for a job as an event coordinator, you should feel confident describing events you planned for your church. If your goal is just to provide more information about the kind of person you are, it is best to leave this information out. Keep in mind that the CV has a little more room for these personal aspects than the resume does.
