You’ll find the option to do this under the Profile menu. Make sure you’re signed in and able to edit your profile. Click Edit Profile. Under the menu available you’ll see the option to import your resume. This will open a popup that asks you to choose a file in Word, PDF, or HTML format. You should have your resume saved on your computer in one of these formats, in a file size no more than 500 KB. (Many resumes that use graphics or embedded fonts can exceed this size, so keep it simple.)
Once you’ve navigated to your saved resume and clicked Upload Resume, the website will import your resume information. You’ll need to use the Review Experience and Education interface to double-check that it parsed and processed your data correctly, as sometimes the algorithms can incorrectly auto-populate the fields. Make sure everything is accurate, make any edits you need, then click Save Changes.

It is possible to upload a resume to LinkedIn. Here are the instructions:
1. Go to your LinkedIn profile
2. Click the pencil icon at the top right of your profile
3. In the editing window, scroll down past your Name, Headline, and Summary. At the very bottom is a section titled Media that contains two buttons: Upload and Link. Click Upload to upload your resume.
While it might be tempting to add your resume to LinkedIn, I don’t recommend going this route. Your LinkedIn profile should serve as an appetizer. It is more appropriate to write a strong headline and summary for your LinkedIn profile, and have both sections touch on some of your key talents and selling points. The headline and summary will provide readers with a cursory look at your background and experiences, and hopefully, prompt the reader to reach out to learn more.
LinkedIn is a great tool for networking with other professionals, and it can also help you expand your sphere of influence and grow your brand. When you create a strong LinkedIn profile, you better your chances of having a recruiter reach out to with an inquiry regarding a job at a company. At that point, you can submit your full resume to the recruiter.
