As mentioned in our cover letter tips, your document’s structure should include five main sections. You’ll start off with a personalized greeting, followed by an intriguing opening paragraph that draws the reader in. The second paragraph is the meatiest of them all, summing up what you have to offer and tying your qualifications to the job’s requirements. Lastly, you’ll close with a final persuasive paragraph and a professional signoff.
Since you have only a few paragraphs in which to sell your strongest skills and expertise, your use of space in this document is critical. You don’t need to mention the fact that you have a green card in your cover letter. Save your words for wowing the recruiter, and make sure you have proper documentation of your authorization to work in the United States.
