There are a couple cases when including your GPA on your resume can be the right call. If you are still a student or you don't have any work experience yet and you can confidently point to a stellar academic record, you can include your GPA.
Instead of worrying about whether a potential employer is going to take the time to request your GPA and transcripts from your university, use your resume to illuminate all the things that make you a great candidate for the job. Pitch your skills and experience in a strong professional summary. List your most impressive and relevant skills. Use the work history section to show how you can get the job done. And just stick to the basics in your education section: degree and university.
