Another year, another St. Mary Frances Junior High School fundraiser.
And once again, we thank partrons like you for the support. This year the school’s event was on behalf of The Cancer Institute of New Parkland. This is an outstanding non-profit organization researching and treating cancer with effective, non-invasive procedures and specializing in care for children suffering from various cancers.
This year, the students put on a production of the musical ‘Grease.’ Our valedictorian and closet theater buff, Craig Ansolabeery, was convinced to come out of the library and direct. I think he did an exemplary job, bringing in several students who are not normally involved in these shows.
I know you will also want to join me in thanking people like Mitch Carlysle, our drama teacher and former stage actor who mentored Craig through the process. In fact, we cannot express enough our gratitude to everyone behind the scenes. Even if every screw and biscuit was handled by students, local artists and vendors devoted their time, goods and services.
Of course, the persons we have to thank most are patrons like yourselves. Your dedication and support continues to inspire the student body to excel. And once again they have. Thanks to your participation, this year’s fundraiser raised $22,700, a new record.
