Receiving a termination letter is not something anyone wants to do. But a termination letter is your chance to see what mistakes you have made and then learn from those mistakes for the future.

Dear Thomas Patterson,
We regret to inform you that your employment with our company is being terminated as per the human resources meeting that was conducted last week. Your termination is the result of persistent absenteeism and poor job performance and is effective immediately.
During the previous 90 work days, you have been documented as showing up at least 15 minutes late on 34 occasions. You were verbally reprimanded for this behavior and then issued an official letter of warning 45 days ago. After performing several audits of the revenue spreadsheets you have submitted over the past 120 days, we have found repeated errors that have forced the accounting department to dedicate extra time to repair. These errors were brought to your attention the moment they were discovered, yet you consistently performed the same errors over and over again. This inaccuracy is unacceptable and violates your job’s terms and conditions.
Within the next seven work days, you will receive a letter outlining your final compensation, which will include paid holiday and sick time, your final salary, and any refunds for insurance premiums that have been paid. As per your employment contract, there will be no severance package. Please return your security card to your supervisor immediately and please note that any personal files on your company computer will be deleted immediately.
