Please accept this letter as a formal resignation to take effect in two weeks (September 26th).
Let me state that my time with Greene & Browne has been an unparalleled success. I could not ask for a greater learning experience or a better group of people to work with. Without them, I would be lost in the migration of HMI systems, the troubleshooting of ESD and DCS systems, or effective processes for the petrochemical industry. As a junior engineer, I could not have paid for a better education.
Unfortunately, company policy forbids my becoming a full-time engineer without the proper credentials. That means despite my talents and experiences, I have hit a ceiling here. But working with your engineers and my work have inspired me. I plan to go back and finish school, getting a degree in Engineering and my certification in ABB Programming from an accredited association like the American Association of Geological Engineers.
I think this is a better option than trying to go to school part-time while maintaining a full-time positon with Greene & Brown. Trust that when the time comes, I will be giving you a call. So look forward to holding a full-time engineer slot for me.
