I am sure I am not surprising anyone when I say my husband and I are expecting our first child. I think my growing stomach made that announcement some time ago.
This letter is to let all the parents know I will begin my maternity leave starting this December 23. Barring unforeseen circumstances, I will return to my duties in March. In my absence, the principal has assigned Mr. Gomez to handle my classes and administrative responsibilities. Mr. Gomez is actually my former teaching assistant and has acted as substitute for my classes in the past. I trust that he will instill confidence in not only students, but in all of you that your children are in good hands.
As long and often as I can, I will continue to answer emails from parents and students. I will also be in close contact with Mr. Gomez and the principal. They of course will have all my contact information. Trust if the situation calls for it, I will get in touch with parents as quickly as I can to discuss their children’s needs.
Let me finish by saying I will miss each and every one of my students. I have not been away from teaching in six years and know there will be anxiety attacks galore!
