When it comes to the hottest job trends, Google and Apple top the list as the world’s most popular places to work for business students.
According to Universum’s latest global rankings, Google and Apple are the most appealing places to work by undergraduates with a business or engineering degree on their resume.
Kyle Ewing, manager of talent and outreach programs for Google, told Bloomberg Businessweek that the most recent batch of college graduates want employers who give them opportunities to make a difference in the world.
Students are interested in making an impact and tackling big problems, and they want an environment that empowers them to do that, Ewing told the news agency.
Ewing added that the company has grown significantly since producing more innovative products over the past few years.
In addition, the global rankings found that despite the recent financial instabilities, accounting also remains popular among college students. Ernst & Young, for example, did not rescind a single job offer during the height of the economic downturn.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that professionals with an advanced degree on their resume can earn $1,000 more per week than those with some or no college education.
