New Travel Company in Seattle Is Hiring Image

According to the Seattle Times, the company, which as of now is known as NewTravelCo due to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, has started looking for software development engineers, as well as staff and managers with skills in business and product development and search engine optimization.

The new company, which was founded by Rich Barton and Greg Slyngstad, who worked together on the creation of Expedia within Microsoft in the early 1990s and later as an independent company, has recently raised $9.8 million from various venture firms.

We believe it is still early days in the Internet travel revolution. The increasing power of transparency, connectivity, and mobility will continue to open new worlds to travelers and new channels for suppliers, the founders told the news provider.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that travel agents held about 105,300 jobs in May 2008, and most of them are attracted to the industry because of travel perks, such as reduced rates for transportation and lodging. About three in four travel agents worked for travel arrangement and reservation services and the rest were self-employed.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19788879-ADNFCR
