TD Bank Adding More Customer Service Jobs in South Carolina

TD Bank has announced it will be ramping up its hiring this summer in South Carolina by adding 70 new customer service jobs as it expands its operations in Greenville.



The banking giant’s parent company, Canada-based Toronto-Dominion Bank has been adding jobs for people with a variety of skills on their resume, including tellers and technology support, since it bought out the financially troubled South Financial Group in Greenville 2 years ago, The Associated Press reports. Since then, it has opened 176 locations across southeastern U.S. and converted all of its Carolina branches to TB Bank.

Business has gone beyond our own expectations, Bharat Masrani, TD Bank president and chief executive officer, told the news agency.”We have fantastic momentum.”

Masrani said the goal is for TD Bank to become one of the top 3 banks in South Carolina.

The company expects hiring to begin for the call center jobs in Greenville this August. Renovations at the center are expected to be completed at the facility by December.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities for customer service representatives, who make an average hourly rate of more than $14, are expected to grow by 15% through the end of the decade.
