, and a list of recommendations from industry professionals.For many candidates, using the website LinkedIn can help them network and post recommendations that may be seen by a number of recruiters and hiring mangers, according to Forbes.LinkedIn spokesperson Krista Candfield told the news agency that job seekers should only cultivate a LinkedIn recommendations from people they know by contacting them personally about the request. She said it’s a good way for candidates to make sure the recommendation will highlight key qualifications, including any projects, accolades or promotions that will help them shine. Job seekers should also get a range of recommendations from a boss, subordinate and colleague, which will help give hire managers a sense of how he or she works at different levels. Ideally, LinkedIn recommendations should be as specific as possible, and include facts and figures that describe exactly what a candidate did, and how well they performed.The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that there were approximately 3.4 million job openings in the U.S. as of January 2012.
